Timeline

From consultation to departure

Before you fly

Photographs, consultation and planning

You submit photographs and complete a health questionnaire. The surgeon reviews your case by video or message, confirms the plan, and gives preliminary advice on medication, smoking cessation and travel timing.

Day 1

Arrival in Istanbul

Your coordinator meets you at the airport and drives you to the hotel. You settle in, rest after the flight, and prepare for the pre-operative appointment the next day.

Day 2

In-person consultation and final consent

You meet the surgeon face-to-face, review the plan, ask final questions, and sign consent. Pre-operative photographs and markings are made. Blood tests and other checks are completed if needed.

Day 3

Surgery day

You are admitted to the accredited hospital, meet the anesthesia team, and undergo surgery under general anesthesia. Afterward you recover in a private room with nursing care and pain management.

Days 4–5

Hospital recovery

You stay one to two nights in hospital. Drains and dressings are managed for you, the surgeon checks healing, and you receive a medication kit and written aftercare instructions before discharge.

Days 6–9

Hotel recovery and follow-up checks

You move to your hotel with private transfers. Short walks, head elevation and medication are the routine. The surgeon sees you for wound checks and, around day 7, removes stitches and assesses fit-to-fly clearance.

Day 10

Departure

Once cleared, you are driven back to the airport. You leave with a written aftercare plan, emergency contact details, and scheduled remote follow-up appointments.

Weeks 2–12

Remote follow-up at home

Your surgeon reviews recovery photographs at set milestones. Swelling continues to settle, scars soften, and you gradually return to normal activity with written guidance.

FAQ

Patient journey questions

How long should I stay in Turkey for a facelift?+

Plan 8–10 nights: one to two nights in hospital after surgery, then five to seven nights in a hotel before your surgeon clears you to fly home. Mini facelift patients may be cleared a day or two earlier.

What happens on arrival day?+

A coordinator meets you at Istanbul Airport and drives you to your hotel in a private vehicle. You rest, and the next day you meet your surgeon in person for the final consultation, markings and consent.

When is the surgery scheduled?+

Surgery usually takes place on day 2 or 3, after the in-person consultation and pre-operative checks. You will be nil-by-mouth for several hours beforehand and will stay in hospital for one to two nights.

When can I fly home after a facelift in Turkey?+

Most patients fly home around day 7–10, once stitches are removed and the surgeon confirms fit-to-fly clearance. Deeper techniques and combined procedures trend toward the longer end.

What should I pack?+

Loose button-front tops, a travel pillow to keep your head elevated, comfortable slip-on shoes, lip balm, throat lozenges, your regular medications, and copies of your passport, insurance and any medical records.

Can someone travel with me?+

A companion is helpful but not mandatory. If you travel alone, the coordinator and hospital team manage your transfers and hotel check-ins. Companions' meals and flights are not included in the surgical package.
